Stephen is currently back in the studio, working on ideas generated from some recent pastel sketches, drawings and paintings when he has been out and about.

Recent sketches form Bardowie and Mugdock near Milngavie.

Stephen has been working in very local surroundings of Bardowie and Mugdock due to current lockdown restrictions.

When Stephen returns to his studio he develops ideas for final paintings, by using a combination of acrylic paints, Indian inks and watercolours.

When visiting locations Stephen generates ideas for paintings by taking a series of photographs and sketching if weather permits. He sketches using a range of materials including chalks, charcoal, inks and watercolours, before returning to his studio to work on finished paintings.
